Announcing New RVgeeks Premium Content!

TheRVgeeks Miscellaneous 20 Comments

We’re excited to announce that we’ll now be offering premium content for the first time! If you enjoy our videos, we hope you’ll love and support the new features we have planned.

We recently held a live Q&A on YouTube, and the response was just awesome. People have been asking us for more of this type of detailed information on specific topics for a while. So now, as an addition to our regular scripted videos on YouTube, we’ll be adding live Q&As and other special features as premium content, available exclusively on the Patreon platform.

Please take a moment to watch the video above, then check out our brand new Patreon page to see what this is all about. Support our videos and access premium content all at the same time!

If you’re not familiar with Patreon, it’s designed to allow people to support, and connect more closely with, their favorite content creators. We’re excited about what we’ve got planned, and new opportunities we have in store for you. We’ll not only be hosting live broadcasts, but offering options like voting on what topics we’ll cover, early access to our regular videos (which will still appear publicly on YouTube), and viewing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage (which will bring you along on RVgeeks project shoots in progress). We’ll even provide the opportunity to have your name listed in our new on-screen credits!

Please check out the short video above for more info, and then click on over to Patreon to see the whole story, and view a short welcome video, for more details. And don’t worry… we’ll still be producing the same scripted YouTube videos we have for years. But this will allow you to both support those videos and get access to cool new content, too.

We also mentioned in the video above that we’ve been getting requests for shirts with our logo on them, since they’ve been seen in many of our videos. Not sure who wants to walk around looking like us😂, but thank you!  So for the very first time, official RVgeeks T-shirts are available here. If you decide to buy one, there’s only one caveat: no impersonating us! 😉

Thanks so much for your interest and support! We hope you’ll join us on Patreon.

  1. I recently heard (late last year) that Patreon was “refiguring” how they were going to handle content creators and people who donate. The result was that said content creators would get LESS of the money viewers were paying. As a result, one content creator I spoke with advised my to use PayPal for my donation. Can you comment on this? Thank you

PS: I do NOT “do” (and will NOT “do”) Facebook.

Hi John. We weren’t on Patreon at the time, but we heard about the fact that something went wrong with their plans and it didn’t end up happening. But, regardless, we don’t have a problem with the way fees and payments are structured there and are happy that they provide the platform.

P.S. – As far as Facebook… we’re with you on that. We (as RVgeeks) don’t have a Facebook account, and we’re happy to keep it that way. But just in case you’re mentioning that because you’re concerned that Facebook is the only way to join/sign in to Patreon… don’t be. You CAN use Facebook to login, but it’s not required. You can just set up an account using your email address and a password of your choice.

  2. Im so sorry, guys, thats a lot of negitive feed back. I have always enjoyed your youtube videos. very well done and i thank you. I took some of your tips, and even purchased that air compressor on amazon and saved a ton. I did not need it but that was a great deal. Many good things for you and your family, god bless. Thanks so much for your nice comments and support, Bruce! We know that any type of change can be seen as a positive or a negative, depending on your perspective. I think people will be very happy to see that our website and YouTube channel will both continue on as usual, so if they liked it before, that shouldn’t change. :)

  3. I would like to see “premium content” too but can’t pay for it, seems like all of us that have followed you for years and got you to where you’re at are getting the short end of the stick here…

Hi Greg. We appreciate your watching us all this time and understand that not everyone can afford to pay for content, or may not even want to. But don’t worry…. nothing you’ve experienced on our channel will change, with the same videos continuing as usual. We’ve actually talked about doing this before, and have always nixed the idea of charging anything for any of our content. As we’ve continued to produce some very complex, detailed and time-consuming videos, we’ve never gone to Patreon or any other pay platform before.

But we finally realized that taking the attitude that we can never, ever charge for anything we do makes it impossible for us to continue adding anything new. We have jobs after all, and there’s only so much time available. We can’t afford to take time away from work to produce free videos (which is just a hobby for us) without replacing that income. We do appreciate your thoughts, but if we’re never allowed to earn anything for our efforts, beyond the modest sums that ad revenue pays, we’re trapped by our jobs from ever doing anything more than we already are. Thanks for your understanding and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy the same free videos we’ve been making for years.

      Safe Travels,
      Peter & John

Hi Kevin. Please read our post and watch the video. We never said a word about paying a penny for anything we’ve been providing all along, and will continue to provide, for free. We are simply offering some additional new content, that’s more work for us, and therefore available to those interested for a small amount. Nobody has to do anything they don’t want to, and for those who aren’t interested in Patreon, nothing will change. If the fact that we’re making some new premium content available for a fee bothers someone so much that they don’t even want to watch our free content any more, there’s not much we can do about that. We hope you’ll continue to enjoy the same free videos we’ve been making for years, and will continue to make.

  4. I was in the process of signing up and got to the ‘Facebook’ page. I don’t use facebook and am wondering what other options are available? Thank You!

Hi John! Thanks for coming to join us on Patreon! It may be different on every device/platform (smartphone/tablet/desktop computer), but if you look below the Facebook signup (we’re not on Facebook, either!), there should be the option to sign up using your email address instead. If you’re not seeing that, please let us know how you’re trying to access Patreon (i.e. what device) and we’ll see what we can do to help walk you through the process.

That’s why it’s optional, Richard. Everything we’ve ever done will still be the same, but new options are now available. Anyone who’s interested won’t need to decline anything. They just can carry on as usual. This is geared to anyone who IS interested, and we’re happy to see that many of them have already signed up since we announced this just this morning.

      1. Thanks. It makes a difference as to which credit card is best.

One more good thing: If they pay creators in USD then you Canadian ones get a bonus.

No worries Tina! Nothing we’re doing on YouTube will change, and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy our regular videos for free, as always. This is just a new option for anyone who’d like something else, too. Not for everybody, but we know that many of our regular viewers would like to know about it, which is why we announced here and on YouTube.
