Tasmanian Devil Feeding Frenzy

TheRVgeeks Australia Road Trip, Trip Tips 16 Comments

Until you’ve seen Tasmanian Devils in full-on feeding frenzy, it’s hard to imagine such small animals being so ferocious. We arrived at the Wings Wildlife Park in Gunns Plains, Tasmania at feeding time, and we were stunned by how aggressive they are. They’re totally fearless and will stop at nothing to get food away from each other. And when they’re done eating, there is absolutely nothing left. With jaws like a vise, they devour the meat, bones and fur of anything they get their teeth on.

After that jarring display, we enjoyed the more sedate experience of petting wombats and koalas, followed by a trip to Gunns Plains Cave.

We’re still on our cruise, and just a week away from picking up our campervan. We’ve just arrived in New Zealand, and we’re pleased to see them everywhere. smile

  3. Can’t recall a video from you where there was so little spoken word. Me thinks I’ve become fond of the commentary. Haha

  4. Happy you are having a good time. I saw a drawing of a Tasmanian Devil in a dictionary as a child and knew then I was not interested in getting any closer – lol.

  5. That video clip was so far removed from what I was expecting on your RV site that I’m almost comment-less. But, to keep things humourous I just have to ask: have you’ve been watching the presidential debates?

Looking forward to your Kiwi posts.

    Take care,

Well, we did promise to share our trip, and it’s hard to watch Tasmanian Devils snarling and fighting over food and not want to share it! LOL We’ve been mercifully unplugged from the news, although we have overheard fellow passengers from all over the world marveling at what’s going on…. so we have a pretty good idea.
