Entegra Coach: Luxury RVs That Blend Quality & Comfort

Entegra Coach: Luxury RVs That Blend Quality & Comfort

Entegra Coach, long synonymous with luxury diesel pushers, has seen some major changes in the past several years. Among them is an expansion into the world of gas Class A and C RVs, and, most recently, Class B rigs.

In today’s post, we’re looking at Entegra RV — who owns the company now, and what’s the scoop on their new line of rigs.

What Company Makes Entegra RVs?

As of this writing, Entegra Coach is owned by Thor Industries, but that’s a relatively recent development.

Back in 1989, a company named Travel Supreme was founded by former employees of Newmar. They built high-quality, luxury fifth wheels. Then, in 2001, they added Class A diesel pusher motorhomes to their lineup.

Their build quality and construction are often compared to Newmar coaches, and indeed they share much in common. We toured the Travel Supreme factory way back in 2006 (about a year after taking delivery of our ’05 Newmar Mountain Aire) and were duly impressed. Besides impressive build quality and designs, we’d heard great things about their customer service as well.

Unfortunately, as a result of the economic downturn in 2008, Travel Supreme RV closed its doors along with many other members of the RV industry.

In the spring of 2008, Jayco acquired the assets of Travel Supreme and started a new luxury motorcoach division known as Entegra Coach.

In June of 2016, Jayco was acquired by Thor Industries, which included Entegra Coach.

What Types of RVs Does Entegra Coach Sell?

Entegra is currently making five models of luxury diesel pusher motorhomes, three gas Class A models, seven Class C rigs, and five models of Class B RVs.

This post summarizes the general type of available Entegra RVs, but not a detailed comparison or a review. If you see something here that appears to fit your RVing needs, a visit to the Entegra Coach website will fill in the details.

Entegra Class B RVs

Class B RVs (sometimes called “campervans”) are the easiest type of RV to drive, maneuver, and park. They handle very similarly to regular vans and can be parked in a regular parking space.

An Entegra Class B coach

While Class C rigs are built on a truck chassis with an attached cab section, Class B RVs are built on a conversion van chassis and get the best fuel mileage.

Obviously, with a Class B RV, you’ll be giving up space, but they’re perfect for couples or singles who want to travel lighter. And Entegra’s Class B coaches offer much of the luxury and technology found in other Entegra RVs.

Entegra offers Class B coaches in five different models, all five of which offer the E-Z DRIVE™ system.

ETHOS

The Ethos is Entegra’s entry-level Class B RV, built on the RAM ProMaster 3500 window van. It has a 3.6L V6 24V VVT 276HP engine with 250 ft.-lb. torque, and a 9-speed automatic 948TE transmission.

I own a 2000 Vision Xl bought it off the show room door. Unfortunately it has spent more time in the shop on warranty work the first two years than it did camping. Many small problems that took several trips to take care off. The most disappointing one was the removal and replacement of the floor vinyl because of discoloration from the glue used. Now the same discoloration is happening again. No problem with the Ford part of the rig just the part manufactured by Entegra. Very unhappy with the overall experience of owning this unit. Was impressive on the showroom floor.

Thor has earned a reputation for rather poor quality service and integrity from everything I've read. Has the Thor mentality contaminated the Entegra division as well?

Not that we've seen... they appear to have been leaving Jayco (who purchased the assets of Travel Supreme in order to create Entegra Coach) mostly alone. And with Jayco's increased size, engineering, and buying power have seemed to be able to improve upon Travel Supreme's original quality and keep pricing down.
