Someone just won a Viair compressor worth $250 in our latest RVgeeks Giveaway. Was it you? Scroll down to the bottom of this post to find out!
If you’ve been following our LED Your RV series about converting our incandescent, fluorescent and halogen lights to cool, energy-efficient LEDs, you probably know that our favorite LED supplier, M4 Products, offers a 5% savings to our viewers who use the discount code “RVgeeks5” when they check out. Now you can also give the gift of light to your favorite RVer! Use the “RVgeeks5” discount code when you purchase an M4 gift certificate, and you’ll save 5%.
If you’re not sure how to select or install LED lights, you can start with Part 1 of our video series, where we review some LED basics and provide our first introduction to M4 Products and their fantastic owner, Steve.
If you’ve ever had contact with him, you’ll know why Steve is so well regarded in the RV world. His products are top quality, he really knows his stuff, and his customer service is the best. We only recommend RV products that we personally use and are extremely satisfied with, so it’s great to read all the positive comments about M4 in places like the iRV2 forums. The praise is really well deserved.
Not sure about LED color choices? Part 2 uses a bit of clever camera work to clearly demonstrate the difference between Warm White, Natural White and Cool White bulbs. If you weren’t sure what LED colors are all about, you will be after you see this.
We’ve experimented with both Warm White & Natural White in various fixtures. In our opinion, Natural is great for work spaces, where bright light is needed. We think the color is really pleasant. Warm is our choice for “mood” lighting, like in our wall sconces. Cool White has such a blue cast to it that it’s not our taste, appearing more appropriate for someplace like a workshop. There are surely those who prefer the Cool color, but as my mother would say, “That’s why they make vanilla and chocolate.” ;-)
Unlike halogen & incandescent replacements, fluorescent tubes require a bit more installation than just plugging in a new bulb. But our videos about it are so clear, that any reasonably confident DIYer will know just what to do. There are two types usually found in RVs: 12” and 18”.
Part 3 demonstrates how easy it is to convert your RV’s 18” fluorescent fixtures into the most elegant LED tubes we’ve ever seen. Due to the smaller size of the 12” tubes, the drivers are external, requiring just a couple of extra steps to install them. Part 4 provides clear, detailed instructions.
Finally, we upgraded our exterior bulbs to LED (both the patio and docking lights) in Part 5. The difference in light output is amazing, while using only a fraction of our valuable battery power.
If you’ve been struggling to find the perfect gift for your favorite RVer, now’s the time to get extra savings for you, and more LED bang-for-the-buck for them! Visit the M4 Products website to learn more, and order gift certificates for your favorite RVers today!

I just installed the LED lights in my coach and never knew how dull the old lights were until I turned these LED's on. WOW! Thanks to you we can now actually see what we are looking for. Thank you for all the videos you put out I enjoy each and every one. PS since I did the light conversion, 3 of our camping friends replaced their halogen with LED's. M4products was a breeze to work with. Thanks

I want to thank you so much for this series. Your research along with the stopped down video that really displayed the difference in colors saved me so much time and money. Using that information we ordered bulbs for two of our lights. We decided to begin with the fixture over the sitting area since the light there was never really good for reading and the light over the "kitchen" area since we always felt like we were cooking in the dark. I installed them yesterday. What an improvement! My wife was amazed to the point that when I suggested we needed to begin changing them all out she said to go ahead and do it now! That in itself is amazing. Again, Thank you!
