Lynx Levelers: How Do They Stack Up to the Rest?

Lynx Levelers: How Do They Stack Up to the Rest?

When you arrive at your campsite, the only thing between you and relaxing is getting your rig set up and level. Lynx Levelers are a popular choice, but how do they measure up to other similar products? In this post, we’re looking at Lynx Levelers to find out how they, ahem, stack up to the competition.

What Are Lynx Levelers?

Lynx Levelers are interlocking blocks made of hard plastic that are designed to be stacked and positioned under the tires of an RV or trailer to level it on uneven terrain.

Unlike the curved Andersen Camper Levelers we posted about recently, Lynx Levelers are square blocks that typically come in a set and can be easily assembled and disassembled as needed. They provide a simple and effective way to level most types of RVs to ensure a better camping experience.

Tri-Lynx, the manufacturer of Lynx Levelers, also makes stops and chocks to help further stabilize and secure RVs, boats, and trailers (more about those below). These are used in tandem with the levelers/interlocking blocks, forming a complete leveling system.

Interlocking Lynx Levelers can be stacked to form a ramp that motorhome or trailer tires can be driven up onto. They can also be used under RV jacks.

How Much Weight Can Lynx Levelers Hold?

Tri-Lynx says that Lynx Levelers can support up to 40,000 lbs, making them a good choice for all RVs from the smallest travel trailer to the largest motorhome.

This is a good starter set. Depending on your rig and where you tend to camp, you may need more.

How High Can I Stack Lynx Levelers to Level My RV?

The number of blocks needed to level your RV depends on several factors including the size of your rig, the number of tires you have and their configuration, and how unlevel the ground is where your rig is parked.

Lynx Levelers can be used for leveling (under the tires) and stabilizing (under jacks/stabilizers). When used for stabilizing, they’ll reduce stabilizer travel to a minimum, which will help keep your trailer from moving around too much when you walk around inside. They can also be used under the tongue jack.

You can stack them up to five blocks high for leveling purposes or up to 8 blocks high for use under stabilizers. Note that when stacking them in a pyramid shape, Lynx recommends going no higher than 5.5 inches (5 levelers).

What Is a Lynx Leveler Chock ‘R Dock?

A “Chock ‘R Dock” is a wheel chock that can interlock with Lynx Levelers or be used independently to chock your RV tires. A hollow well in the middle is designed for use as a stand/support for a trailer tongue jack.

What Is a Lynx Leveler Stop ‘N Chock?

The Stop ‘N Chock is a combination chock and wheel guide and can help get your RV situated easily and accurately. You know how tricky it can be to stop with your tires riiiight at the top of a stack of levelers? These eliminate that problem by stopping you in the perfect spot. No more rolling too far and having a tire drop off the back of the stack.

Stop ‘N Chocks are used in tandem with Lynx Levelers but aren’t designed to be used independently because they have a step underneath that interlocks with the levelers.

Can I Use Lynx Levelers On Any Surface?

Lynx Levelers work well on most surfaces. But we (and Tri-Lynx) don’t recommend using them directly on muddy surfaces that can sink in.

Before placing your levelers on the ground, you’ll also want to check the area to make sure there are no large rocks where your levelers will sit. Large rocks under the levelers can cause stress/pressure that could damage or even break the blocks.

Do Lynx Levelers Come With a Warranty?

Lynx levelers come with a 10-year warranty, which suggests that Tri-Lynx stands behind these products. For more information on leveling travel trailers, see our post “How to Level a Travel Trailer the Right Way.”
