Updates: New Website! New Contest! Successful Subscriber Migration!

TheRVgeeks Miscellaneous 10 Comments

We’re pleased to announce that our recent changes appear to have been successful. We appreciate your hanging with us while we worked out the bugs during our transition.

The new website is up and running, with many updates already in place. Launch day was both exciting and alarming all at the same time, as traffic actually crashed the server for nearly an hour, with more than double the views of our previous best day ever! Thanks for all your enthusiasm and support. smile

We apologize for the challenges we’ve had with our subscriber list, but we’re happy to report that ALL of your e-mail addresses were (finally) successfully migrated over to the new domain from the now-retired HowToRVgeeks website (and they said it couldn’t be done)!

So…. if you were subscribed to our old website, but haven’t already re-subscribed to TheRVgeeks.com… you don’t have to. It’s done! Of course if you didn’t get an e-mail about this post, and haven’t yet subscribed at all… no time like the present. wink

And if you didn’t subscribe before yesterday, you may have missed hearing about our brand new RVgeeks Contest, where one lucky viewer will win $250 worth of LED lights on Monday, 9/15/14! Be sure to enter for your chance to win. To increase your odds, you can add a pin to your Pinterest page, and enter and/or Tweet about the contest once each day.

We apologize if anyone received two copies of this post in their e-mail. If you were subscribed to our old website using one e-mail address, then re-subscribed to the new site with a different e-mail address, the “don’t-duplicate-email-addresses!” process would not have known it was you both times. You can simply unsubscribe from either mailing and you’ll only receive one from now on.

That’s it for the moment, other than a little tease about our next video, due out this coming week. The title is “Our  RV Windshield Screens Are Driving Us BATTY!” Let your imagination run wild.

Thanks again for bearing with us as we get settled into our new digs. We’re confident (well, hopeful at least) that we’re all done.

Safe Travels,
Peter & John

  2. Just a quick note to thank you guys for your very informative videos and site. I subscribed to your YouTube channel over a year ago a we began our search for our first motorhome. We bought a 30′ Newmar Baystar and I was very familiar with how to operate many of the functions of that RV (and RVs in general) due to having watched your videos (over and over and over, ha!). I retired in May and we moved up to a 43′ Dutch Star and have put nearly 9,000 miles on that coach since May. We are not full-timing yet as my wife will work another few years but we are enjoying (!) our time in the motorhome. I hope one day to meet you and shake your hands and thank you for the highly informative and professionally done videos!

    Many thanks and warm regards,
    Carl and Gayle

PS I love the ragtime piano too

Hi Carl & Gayle. Thank you so much for your kind note. We’ve happy that we’ve been able to help you get more comfortable with your RV systems, and we LOVE that you bought a Newmar. We really love ours. For non-fulltimers, you sure got a lot of use out of your rig this year! We would love to connect on the road sometime. We’re planning to be in the Canadian & US Rockies and the desert SW next summer/winter and we’re talking about adding a “current location” feature to our website by then. And an extra thanks for your kind comment on my piano playing. Maple Leaf Rag was the very first Joplin piece I taught myself to play.

  3. Nice new web site. By the way, tried the microwaved corn cooking method is a god-sent. Thanks for the tip.

Now here’s one back to you. How do you make personalized scrambled eggs for a large group when RVing? Simple, you provide the veggies (onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, cheese, etc.) and a cooking pot with boiling water. Tell your guests to break the eggs they want into a small zip lock plastic bag at their rig and bring the egg bags with them. When they arrive, have them add the veggies and cheeses they want to the bag. Then place the bag(s) into the boiling water. Instant party with fresh cooked scrambled eggs and no complaints because you didn’t make ‘em their way.

Glad you like the new website and the microwave corn tip. We were boondocking with a group of other RVs a few years ago, and they made scrambled eggs exactly the way you described. Thanks for your comment and for sharing that great tip! We might have to make a video about that. ;-)
