DOUBLE Slide Topper & Awning Discounts, Installation Tips + RVgeeks Quartzsite Appearance!

DOUBLE Slide Topper & Awning Discounts, Installation Tips + RVgeeks Quartzsite Appearance!

In this video, Tyler from Tough Top Awnings shares a couple of tips for replacing slide topper and awning fabric, offers RVgeeks viewers their biggest discount ever, and we announce our appearance in Quartzsite, AZ during the big January, 2017 RV show!

If you’ve watched any of our DIY videos about how easy it is to replace slide toppers, but have decided that you’d still rather not do it yourself, here’s your chance to have it done for you by one of the foremost professionals in the business. Tyler has replaced about a kazillion slide toppers (so many that he couldn’t give us an exact number, LOL!), and as usual, he’ll be installing them during the Quartzsite show. Due to time and technical constraints, it will be “slide topper replacements only” during the show. If you’d like to have him replace your awning, you can make arrangements to visit their new facility near Vancouver, WA.

SPECIAL DOUBLE DISCOUNT FOR A LIMITED TIME!

Starting today, and continuing through the end of the Quartzsite RV show (1/29/2017), Tough Top Awnings will be offering a Quartzsite/Holiday Double Discount For RVgeeks Viewers. Use the Discount Code “RVGEEKS10” to get a 10% discount on your entire order at ToughTopAwnings.com.

You can also use the 10% code for awning and accessory purchases, and for phone orders, too! The discount applies to ALL orders placed from today through the end of the show (1/29/2017), whether you’re having slide toppers installed at the show or not.

For installations in Quartzsite, we highly recommend ordering your slide toppers in advance. If you pre-order, Tyler will custom-make your new slide toppers ahead of time, assuring that he’ll have them to install for you in Quartzsite (demand was so high last year that he ran out of fabric before the end of the show). So be sure to place your order in advance to guarantee you’ll get them!

Contact Tyler through the Tough Top Awnings website to place your order and let him know you’ll be coming to Quartzsite for installation. He’ll bring your new slide topper fabric to the show (January 21-29, 2017) and install it for you for a very reasonable price. In most cases, he can even come directly to wherever you’re parked in the area, and of course he’ll be doing installations during our appearance as well.

Of course our usual 5% discount code “RVGEEKSROCK” will be back in effect immediately after the Quartzsite show.

We’ll be providing the location, dates and times where we’ll be appearing via blog posts on our website. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to subscribe to receive details on meeting up with us this winter in the AZ desert.

If you’ve seen any of our videos about slide topper fabric replacement, you know that it’s pretty much our #1 favorite do-it-yourself RV project, because it checks every box for DIYers:

  1. Surprisingly easy to do (even the widely-feared spring is no worry… as Tyler demonstrates in this video!)
  2. Superior results compared to OEM (original equipment) replacement
  3. Saves a lot of $$ (OEM fabric is overpriced and labor is expensive)

As easy as the job is, we understand that it’s not for everyone. Even those of us who like to work on our own RVs can sometimes be short on time, or prefer to avoid climbing ladders, etc. We get it.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t still save money (Tough Top fabric is priced lower than OEM and Tyler charges a fair & reasonable price for installation) and still get superior results (their fabric is clearly much higher quality).

We’ve spent at least a little time in the Quartzsite desert during most winters since we started RVing, and we’re excited to be making our first appearance with Tyler. We’re getting details worked out, but we’ll be keeping our subscribers updated with both our, and Tyler’s, plans so that you can stop by to meet us.

If you haven’t already subscribed, be sure to do that today to keep in the loop about our schedule and exact location. Current plans have us in Quartzsite for at least the first weekend of the show (Sat & Sun, 1/21-22) but we’ll post an update when we get closer. And Tyler will be installing slide toppers throughout the show… or at least until he runs out of fabric!

Hope to see you in Quartzsite!

After the Quartzsite Show, our usual 5% Discount still applies!

Hi Emmett. Without seeing it, we can't be sure, but it sounds like you lost your spring tension. If you need a consult on this, we'd suggest contacting Tyler at Tough Top Awnings. He's more able to talk you through troubleshooting than anyone we know. Not sure if he's around today since it's the weekend, but you can try contacting him through his website, which has both his e-mail and phone number at the bottom of the Home page: ToughTopAwnings.com.

That's my Mom... the world champion of finding the best bargain! If you can install the slide topper yourself, we'll pay for the whole thing! :) Of course we have to get you that pop-up trailer first!

Great little video/ Quartzsite reminder.

We are planning on being there for four days and really want to meet both Peter & John and Tyler.

I have a couple of RV maintenance & installation questions that I'm sure Peter will love to answer and a couple of teckkie questions that John should know. (Wifi ranger now 5G?)

But I also really want to talk to Tyler in person about Girard slide toppers, and the problems (special tools?) required to work on them. The one I had replaced in Penticton (warranty job) is fine but I'd like to get the fabric on the dining room one done by Tough Top Awnings if I can.

Hey John! Looking forward to seeing your KA! If you're only there for four days, please keep in mind that the event we're planning will be Saturday & Sunday, 1/21 & 1/22, the first two days of the show. We're not sure if we'll need to bug out on Monday for another commitment yet. We'll of course have more details as we've got 'em.

We recall our communication about those Girards with Tyler, and suggest that if you plan to have any chance of him working on them down there, you should definitely contact him directly in advance. Our recollection is that that special tool may indeed be a deal-breaker, so any chance of success will likely need to be planned out. Looking forward to seeing you in the desert!
