We Have A Winner In Our $300 Tough Top Awnings Giveaway! Was It You?

We Have A Winner In Our $300 Tough Top Awnings Giveaway! Was It You?

Out of 848 entries, one lucky winner has been selected at random in our latest RVgeeks Giveaway. The prize, a $300 gift certificate from Tough Top Awnings, will allow them to order top-quality replacement fabric for their RV’s patio or window awnings, or their slide toppers, from our very favorite supplier.

If you weren’t the winner this time, we still have a great consolation prize for you. RVgeeks viewers get 5% off their entire order by using the discount code “RVGEEKSROCK when checking out at www.ToughTopAwnings.com.

We’ve now replaced all of our slide toppers and our main patio awning with Tough Top fabric, which is far superior to the original equipment (OEM) material that comes on the vast majority of RVs. As soon as you see it, the difference is obvious.

If you’ve never changed your own slide topper or awning fabric, and think you can’t do it yourself, be sure to check out our library of How-To videos. We’ve put together a whole series of clear step-by-step tutorials covering many of the most popular models from Dometic / A&E and Carefree of Colorado. The job is surprisingly easy.

If you don’t see your model slide topper or awning in our video library yet, it may be coming soon. On a visit to Vancouver, WA last month, Tyler, Tough Top’s Operations Manager, guided us through replacing the fabric on our A&E / Dometic WeatherPro electric patio awning, which was in pretty bad shape. We’ll have that video edited and available later this summer. We also filmed the fabric replacement on an A&E / Dometic Deluxe Plus Window Awning, pictured here, which we’ll also be editing for publication soon.

This coming month, Tyler will be joining us yet again for the replacement of a Carefree of Colorado manual pull-down patio awning, so look for that video as well.

We’re sorry it takes some time to produce these videos. Besides the fairly intensive filming and editing, there are so many models of slide topper and awning that we might never get to them all… but we’re trying!

If you’re a fairly handy DIY RVer, don’t pay someone else to do this very manageable job for you. Even if we haven’t yet demonstrated your specific make & model of awning or slide topper, you can see from watching the others that the techniques are similar, giving you a feel for how it’s done. The results are so much better, and the savings so great, that paying for OEM fabric would be a real shame.

Oh yeah… almost forgot… a hearty congratulations to the winner of our giveaway: Ken S, entry #113, who is the proud owner of a Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel. Thanks so much to everyone who entered, and best of luck in our next RVgeeks Giveaway. If you haven’t already subscribed, make sure you do so that you’ll know when we announce it.

Although Ken won the on-line contest (congrats Ken) but we all can use the RVGEEKSROCK code to get our own discount.

So, in a way, we can all be winners. (I'm planning on stopping in the other Vancouver on my way south this fall.)

Thanks John, thanks Peter.
