Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, Beaches & Big4

TheRVgeeks Australia Road Trip, Trip Tips 4 Comments

With 17 stellar swimming and surfing beaches, Port Macquarie, NSW is a crown jewel along Australia’s Legendary Pacific Coast. It’s also home to the world’s first hospital dedicated solely to the care and preservation of koalas.

We’re staying at our 3rd excellent Big4 Holiday Park, and we also spotted camels on the beach in Port Macquarie, which was a bit of a surprise! We were not, however, surprised to spot goannas, which are huge monitor lizards. Look for both camels & a goanna in the video.

  1. I am sure glad to see that we Americans are learning not to call them Koala bears.
Don’t forget to drive the Nullarbor Highway before you leave and the Blue Mountains.

Among our favorite people on the planet. Don’t forget they are probably as much or MORE friendly to us than England. They even went us to Vietnam and many stupid wars the England did not.

Get out in some remote area and talk to each other, often times they join in just to talk to Americans.

We Canadians know better than to call them Koala “bears” too. ;-) And yes indeed, Aussies are some of the nicest people we’ve met anywhere in the world. We wish we never had to leave.
