What Is etrailer.com, And Is It A Good Source Of RV Parts & Accessories?

etrailer.com is a popular source of RV parts, trailer parts, & accessories. But is etrailer a good place to get RV parts, and do they keep a useful selection in stock? And do they have a helpful customer service team? We’re taking a close-up look at etrailer.com as a potential resource for parts and accessories for anyone with an RV or trailer.

What is etrailer.com?

etrailer.com is a source of parts for RVs, with a focus on towing equipment in particular. In addition to RV parts and towing parts, they also carry items such as lights, car covers, RV supplies & accessories, and even floor mats. They offer vehicle accessories (including custom-fit trailer hitches) for over 3,100 different vehicles.

Following are just some of the types of gear that etrailer.com carries:

  • RV supplies
  • Heavy-duty towing supplies
  • Trailer parts
  • Performance chips
  • Bike racks
  • Cargo carriers
  • Step bars
  • Tonneau covers
  • Lights
  • Floor mats

Not only do they carry a wide range of RV-related gear, but they also provide helpful articles and videos with explanations and descriptions to help upgrades and parts installations go smoothly. They also offer answers to common questions about parts and installations in their website’s “Expert Answers” section, as well as via chat or phone.

These are some of the reasons etrailer.com is one of the leading online retailers of custom-fit towing accessories and other parts.

Who Started etrailer?

etrailer.com was founded by Henry Bross in 1946 as a family business that started as an RV park and service station for the local neighborhood. When the need for affordable high-quality parts & accessories became obvious, the company began addressing this need to a larger and larger market. By 1976, they’d built a huge showroom, warehouse, and installation facility that quickly grew to serve customers who would travel from far and wide for supplies at fair prices.

Where Is etrailer Located?

Etrailer is located in Missouri at 1507 E Hwy A in Wentzville. They have only this one location for their showroom, warehouse, and installation facility. But of course, they ship just about anywhere.

What Are the Advantages of Buying Through etrailer.com?

There are several benefits of shopping with etrailer.com:

  • Personal Customer Service: Etrailer provides one-on-one service not only during the research and ordering processes but also throughout the life of the products they sell.
  • Vehicle-Specific Shopping: Their website is set up to allow you to search for products that are sure to fit your specific vehicle.
  • Fast Shipping: etrailer is known for its fast turnaround time. When you place your order, you generally receive your products quickly, as most in-stock items are shipped out the same day that the order is placed.
  • Help With Installations: As we noted earlier, they’re big on helping customers with installation or any other assistance needed. They’re particularly good at providing articles, videos, and expert answers online via their website, chat, email, or phone.
  • True Expertise Offered: Etrailer provides experts to assist in buying and installing the right gear for your needs. But they also take this customer service one very large step further by continuing that expert support for as long as you own the product. You can search the “Expert Answers” page on their website to search for help with whatever part or accessory you’re interested in repairing or upgrading.

Have to echo the praises heaped on eTrailer and their staff, I have dealt with them only twice and each time they went above and beyond to ensure not only did I get the correct product but that I was completely happy with the item/s. This type of customer service is unfortunately very rare today.

Just quickly want to comment on eTrailer and it's service. Absolutely tops. on two occasions I dealt with them on baseplates for my towables and once on wiring supplies. The service and advice plus crossborder deliveries were flawless. Prices, well it is always convenience vs. availability. Highly recommended. Klaus Berger,Chilliwack BC, Canada

Yes, I bought my tow vehicle braking system and my tow bar from trailer, both are excellent products, and customer service was very responsive. I would buy from them again!

Sorry to hear about your experience, James. As you can tell from our (and other commenters') experience, what happened to you is definitely not the norm. We hope you reconsider and give them a chance again at some point. They really do their best to be helpful.

My late husband bought from etrailer for many years. Parts for vehicles and many RVs, and never had an issue with shipping or products ordered. Their installation videos were also a great help since we did all the installations ourselves.
