Tampa RV Show: All the Details to Know Before You Go

In case you’ve never been to the Tampa RV Show, in this post, we’re telling you what you can expect if you’re going, and what you’ll miss if you don’t!

What Is the Tampa RV Show?

Technically named the “Florida RV SuperShow,” the event more commonly known as the “Tampa RV Show” is a major RV show in Tampa, Florida, and is hosted by the Florida RV Trade Association. Held annually for the past 38 years, the event is also sometimes referred to as the “Tampa RV Super Show.”

Regardless of what you call it, this show is among the biggest RV shows in the country. In fact, many people consider it a must-see show for RVers and other travel enthusiasts. Whether you’re an experienced traveler, just starting out, or even just dreaming of RVing someday, if you’re interested in recreational vehicles, you’re sure to enjoy this RV show.

In addition to every type of RV or camper you could hope to check out, from small A-frame travel trailers to Class B RVs to massive Class A diesel pusher motorhomes, you’ll find much more at the Florida RV SuperShow.

From educational seminars to daily entertainment to the latest innovative products and RV accessories, to RV parts and booth exhibitors representing campgrounds & resorts, financing & insurance information, and after-market products for RVers, the Tampa RV Show has it all.

How Much Are Tickets to the Tampa RV Show and How Do We Get Them?

Tickets for the Tampa RV Show 2024 will be available for purchase at the entrance gate. Should you want to buy Tampa RV Show tickets in advance, you’ll find them for sale online this fall on the Florida RV SuperShow website. The online ticket portal will be posted later in the fall.

As we write this post, ticket prices have yet to be released. What we can tell you is that tickets for the 2023 Tampa RV Show cost $15 for adults and included a second-day entry.

Senior citizens received a $2 discount on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and active and retired military received a $2 discount throughout the entire week. In 2023, kids under the age of 16 attended free. We’d expect similar pricing this year.

The Florida State Fairgrounds handles general parking. Cash and Credit Cards are accepted, and the 2024 daily parking rate will be posted later in the fall as well. Parking at the 2023 show was $10 per day for cars and $16 per day for RVs.

For additional questions, call (813) 621-7821 or email info@FloridaStateFair.com.

Where Can We Stay During the Tampa RV Show?

Dry camping is available through the Florida State Fairgrounds but those reservations sell out very early. To camp at the RV show, you need to plan months in advance.

However, there are several campgrounds, RV resorts, and hotels within easy driving distance of the fairgrounds. If you have a toad, you can park your RV at a nearby private campground and drive your vehicle in to visit the show. Otherwise, you’ll need to park your RV at the fairgrounds on the days when you attend the show.

Following is a small selection of private campgrounds and resorts within a 30-mile radius of the Florida RV SuperShow. There are many more in addition to these, but either way, you’ll want to reserve your site as far in advance of the RV show as possible.

Tips for Enjoying the Tampa RV Show

Following are a few tips to help you to enjoy the Florida RV SuperShow.

Use Your Map

Take time to peruse and use your map.

The Tampa RV Show is huge and the fairgrounds will be full of people as well as tons of things to see and do. Using your map is a great way to create a loose plan for all the things that interest you most in the show. (We say “loose” because you don’t want to overplan! See below.)

Try Not to Overplan

Try not to be too particular about your plans because they may need to change based on time or interests. Having a loose plan is wise, but over-planning is a good way to limit yourself. These huge RV shows can be pretty overwhelming, especially if you’ve never navigated one before. Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance if you need it.

Arrive Early or Later In the Day and/or Attend on a Weekday

The Tampa RV show is incredibly crowded during peak hours, especially over the weekend. To avoid finding yourself stuck in traffic jams and long lines, arriving either early in the day, or later in the afternoon, is best. If you can go during the week, all the better.

Dress In Layers and Wear Comfortable Shoes

Be prepared for the potential for a variety of conditions because weather can be a bit unpredictable in Florida in January.

Dress in layers so you’ll be comfortable in varying temps. Items like a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and plenty of water and snacks in a backpack will be very helpful. Emergency items like band-aids, Advil, Tylenol, etc. are always good to have on hand as well.
